Back in the Game

Wee Willy Winky (or baby William Herndon, or baby Steve - according to my coach Steve McKnight)

To the left is the reason I haven't been doing much on the blog lately. Will was born 4 weeks ago and has kept me on my toes. For the most part I have been able to maintain my workout schedule. Today I was shredded by Chest, Back and Balls. Man, that is a super killer and I'm scheduled to do P90X Shoulders and Arms, and abs with my wife this afternoon. She has really been bringing it!

Back to Work!

This is going to be a great week! Chest, Back and Balls was awesome yesterday and today I'm doing a preview of a work out that coach Steve McKnight wrote that we're going to videotape tomorrow. Check back on the blog for more of that. BTW this is a pic of my little girl doing some yoga with me last week.

Recovery Week

Man, do I need a recovery week! I was supposed to have one 2 weeks ago, but I kept adding in workouts with friends and then didn't really feel like I needed it so I went full out and then full out again last week. Well now, I know that my body needs it, so this is going to be a lot of yoga and a little boredom this week :-(

Good Workout with Friends

It was great to do P90X Chest, Shoulders and Arms with my two good friends Steve McKnight and Dave Wingenbach. Not bad for 3 trumpet players, but I feel it this morning. Man working out with friends is a great way to push yourself!

Core Synergistics is tough

I hate it, but I love it. That workout is so killer. I did however allow me to take this picture. I'm not saying I'm ripped or anything, but it's the first time I've every felt good enough to take a pic like this. Man this workout is money from minute one to the end. An old college friend and Steve McKnight and I are going to workout today so I don't know what to call this week. Heavy lifting with Steve on Monday, X-Stretch on Tuesday, Core Synergistics Wednesday (which is a very hard workout as previously explained) and I'm sure we'll bring it today. Maybe next week will be a true recovery week . . .

X Stretch comes through again!

Well after hurting myself 2 days ago I decided to take a recovery week and start with X-Stretch. Wow, does that work well. I woke up and my neck felt terrible. I did the whole hour of X-Stretch and felt up to 90% or so. That is some seriously quick recovery.

Ouch!!

Well, I was a dummy today and injured my neck doing kick-butt "corn cobb" pull-ups while trying to out-do Steve McKnight in a joint workout today. First off I didn't stretch enough and secondly I didn't listen to my body when I first felt a bit of a pull. Thirdly it was supposed to be a recovery week but I wanted to do a fun workout with my friend. I would have been alright had I not made my first 2 mistakes. I think I'll start recovery week tomorrow and jump right back in next Monday!

P90X Legs and Back still a killer

Man 0 man o manashevitz. It doesn't matter how many times I do P90X Legs and Back it still kicks my butt, but in a great way. What a great workout. The primal diet is still going great too! I highly recommend it so far!

Primal Diet Day 6

About a week ago or so my good friend and my personal coach Steve McKnight (knightfit.com) lent me a book called the The Primal Blueprint. After reading the book in about 2 days I decided to give it a try. It's basically a program about eating and exercising like our ancestors did. It makes a lot of sense so I'm giving it a try (especially in the eating department). So far so good. I'd be happy to fill you in on any of the details of the plan. Just drop me a line.

My New Blog

Hi All,

I'm a new Beach Body coach and I started this blog to show everyone what I'm up to. I'll try and post my workouts and eating habits every day. Also, I've put a few banners of some of the programs I've used to get fit. I've enjoyed my time getting fit and healthy so much that I'm happy to coach anyone who needs a little help, motivation or encouragement absolutely free. Just drop me a line.

Biceps, Triceps, Shoulders and Arms + Abs

Yesterday was a great workout day. I really feel like I'm "feeling" my muscles more than ever. By that I mean that I'm getting the most out of each rep by concentrating on having great form. I'm using a little lighter weights and really focusing to make each rep count. I think it's a much more effective way to workout. Hopefully it pays off!
